5 Summer Style Tips for the Groom & His Men
June, 29 2017
When it comes to summer weddings, it’s important to dress cool - literally and figuratively! Just like the bride and her bridal crew, the groom and his guys can beat the heat, too. It all comes to down to switching both the wardrobe and wedding-day details to be fresh and light!
Here are 5 summer wedding attire tips for the groom and his men:
1. Keep Colors Light and Bright
Goodbye, black! Guys, go for an airy look this season in suits with light grey, khaki or tan hues. Better yet, choose cooler fabrics like linen. And don’t be afraid to add a pop of color with a bright boutonniere!
2. Subtract the Suit Jacket!
Groomsmen will be grateful to not wear suit jackets in the heat! Instead, opt for a tailored vest or simply a white button-down with suspenders. Summer allows for a more casual style, so feel free to even roll up those shirt sleeves. As for the groom, stand out by being the only one wearing a jacket, or join with the rest of the “cool”’ jacket-free guys!
3. Pick Ties with Personality
Summery ties are back in season! That means cool prints and bold colors. Give your lineup look some personality by having your groomsmen pick out ties with different prints that compliments the overall color palette of the wedding.
4. Add Summer Accessories
Guys can accessorize, too! Hats (Think: tailored driver caps) are perfect for adding shade and a little bit of that vintage style. Sunglasses also make for a fun touch - just have your man choose a pair that fits the rest of his groom style.
5. Comfortable Shoes
Even if the party is all wearing classic suits, feel free to keep the feet more casual! While we’re not talking beach sandals (sorry, guys!), boat shoes make for a comfier alternative than oxfords. Make sure to have your Lily & Lime wedding photographer capture a feet-dangling shot showing of those fun-colored socks!
