A Detroit Love Story: Aven And Jillian’s Wedding Was A Celebration Of Love
February, 22 2023
Detroit in winter is beautiful. Built on ruins of many things, Detroit today is a gritty mix of things, and amazing activities to experience. The city is home to vibrant street art, many tourist spots, a bustling downtown, and museums. Apart from that, Detroit offers an amazing culinary experience as well. Many older properties have been turned into distillers, cafes, and restaurants with an electric vibe. Some of the most notable places to visit in the city are the lovely Belle Isle Park, the artsy Heidelberg Project, the beautiful Detroit Institute of Arts, the fascinating Henry Ford Museum, and the eclectic Eastern Market, and is home to many art deco skyscrapers! That said, for us, the visit to the city was because of Aven and Jillian’s beautiful winter wedding. The wedding date for the two was the 22nd of January, 2022, and it was everything that we consider a simple yet magical wedding! Their minimal wedding took place in an amazing wedding venue. The two had opted for a wedding venue where they could get ready for the wedding day, and have their wedding ceremony and their wedding reception party as well. That day, our photographer took photos of the couple and knew that they were among people who truly love each other. Our photographer realized that they were witnessing a celebration of tender, soft, and super-deep love.
For their wedding day, the couple decided to choose The Whiskey Factory - Detroit City Distillery. The choice of the wedding venue was absolutely perfect, we fell in love with the gritty, and artsy look of the rustic wedding venue. The Whiskey Factory’s 5,000 square foot historical event space is peppered with wooden barrels, ceilings that make you feel as though you stepped into a bar, and is complete with rustic details like brick walls, wooden retro-styled doors, and the smell of fine whiskey. The venue is complete with many different things, the seating area is lined with aging whiskey barrels, while the backside of the venue allows visitors to experience the “bar” experience. The industrial design along with its rustic charms made this place a great choice for the couple. What we love about this amazing Detroit wedding venue is that it was the perfect spot for amazing photos. The couple’s wedding photos were stunning, and dreamy, and looked just perfect, befitting their love story. The wedding venue sat only a few minutes away from the downtown region, and the couple made their way to start the day of celebrations. The day of the wedding was to unfold, and both of them could not contain their excitement. Our Detroit wedding photographer documented their love story’s celebration, as it progressed, and captured the different emotions of the couple, their family, and the friends they held close. It was easy to see that the couple had spent a lot of time planning their wedding and smoothing out the smaller details of the wedding. From the decor to the lovely dinner table settings, everything on their wedding day went smoothly.
The day of the wedding was quaint and pretty. The air had a slight chill in it, and the sun was out. The couple had a traditional getting-ready plan and had chosen to have their first look photo session. The groom and his groomsmen were more than excited to start the day. To start the day’s celebrations, the groom and groomsmen dressed up quickly. The groom had decided to use a two-piece wedding suit. The color of choice was midnight blue, and the groomsmen were dressed in black two-piece suits. To add some jazz to his outfits, the groom added a deep teal-colored shirt and tie. The groomsmen simply went for black ties. Once the boys were dressed, the groomsmen escorted the groom to the spot the couple had decided to have their first look photos taken. Once there, the groom and the groomsmen waited for the bride to enter. In another room, the bride, the bridesmaids, and the maid of honor were getting ready. The bridal photos and the getting-ready photos show just how excited the bride was as she dressed up for the day. Jillian’s warm smile and the swept auburn hair made her look exceptionally beautiful. Before the girls decided to get dressed, they were dressed in robes and posed for a few photos. The getting-ready robes were satin, the bride had white and the other girls had a deep teal satin robe. As Jillian and her girl gang were talking about the day ahead of them, our photographer took a few photos of the wedding dress. Jillian had hung the wedding dress on a wooden hangar, on an old rustic door. The background makes the photo stand out. And then, the girls decided to get dressed before giving Jillian a hand with her wedding look. The bridesmaid dresses were in the same color as their getting-ready photos. Jillian’s dress had slim straps and a lovely neckline. The maid of honor got other things in order, as the bridesmaids helped her with the makeup and a natural bridal hairstyle. Jillian had decided to let her hair down and show her natural curls, and we loved the look! To complete the look of her wedding dress, Jillian had picked out a lovely, flowy wedding cape. The cape added a regal touch to her wedding dress. As the bride was almost done, the mother of the bride, dressed in a lace blue dress, hugged her daughter. One of the bridesmaids handed Jillian her bridal bouquet, which was made of lovely white flowers and was cushioned between loads of greenery. The bridesmaid bouquets were similar as well. Before heading toward the spot where Aven was waiting, Jillian stepped out to greet her father. The father of the bride was also dressed in a two-piece blue wedding suit and was all smiles when he saw his daughter all dressed up for the day. And then, it was time to get the day’s events started.
Jillian was escorted by her friends to the spot where Aven and his groomsmen were waiting. As Jillian made her way to the doorway, she saw Aven turned towards the wall, standing absolutely still. Without wasting a second, with a warm smile, soft curls, and auburn hair, the bride swiftly covered the distance between the two, and Aven knew she was standing behind him. Without any hesitation, he turned around to see the love of his life, and our photographer captured these tender moments. Aven burst out into a smile, warmer than the sun perhaps. They held hands and talked to each other without the need for any words. Then they posed for a few more photos and decided to head back to the wedding ceremony area. There, Aven took his place near the microphone where the wedding officiant would take the spot. The wedding ceremony decor was floral-heavy and simple. The seats for the wedding guests were neatly arranged to overlook the area these two were to tie the knot. The area for the couple to tie the knot in the venue was decorated with a hoop of white flowers, lots of greenery, and little ferns. The floral hoop was placed in front of the wooden barrels, which made the setting look absolutely adorable! And as the groom took his spot, he waited for Jillian to walk down the aisle. Jillian was escorted down the aisle by her father. As she walked down the aisle, Aven could not keep his eyes off her. Jillian stood next to Aven, and the wedding ceremony started. Throughout the ceremony, Jillian and Aven stole a few glances and had soft smiles playing on their lips. And then they read out their wedding vows, which moved all of the wedding guests. And then, they kissed and sealed the wedding! As they kissed, the room erupted in happy claps and congratulated the couple. Then they walked down the aisle, hand in hand, waving at their wedding guests.
Right after the wedding ceremony, the wedding guests took a small break. As the guests were resting the couple decided to pose for some wedding photos. First, since the bride was busy with some other things, the groom posed for some solo photos. The solo groom's photos turned out amazing. Then his best man joined him and posed for a few goofy wedding photos. After that, the other groomsmen stood in a line and posed for a photo. By then, Jillian had come back and wanted to pose for some photos with Aven. The two had a lovely photo session, surrounded by their friends and family. The romantic wedding photos are proof of their eternal love. A few of the photos from the photoshoot were worthy of framing and hanging up on the wall. And then, the couple posed for a few photos with their family. They were full of grins and some jokes. Right before the wedding reception, the couple decided to take some last photos. The groom and the bride rounded up their groomsmen and bridesmaids. Posing for group photos, the couple chose two different spots. One of the photo spots was in the back of the venue, which was at the bar, and the other was in another part, where they used some of the chairs for the wedding guests to use as props. The photos turned out to be a little dramatic, but absolutely beautiful. After posing for photos, the couple, too, took a short break, before they had to attend their wedding reception party. Before the wedding ceremony could start, our wedding photographer took some detailed photos of the wedding decor. The couple had come up with lovely, yet minimal details for their wedding decor. Every bit of the wedding decor was eye-catching. Following the decor of the wedding ceremony, the dinner tablescape for the wedding guests was paired with greenery runners, beautiful cutlery, small candles in a jar, and a wedding menu printed on a soft piece of paper. To make the setting dreamy, the venue’s ceiling had some string lights on it. The couple had also decided on some different flavors of sweets for the wedding and showcased them in a beautiful dessert bar.
As the time for the wedding reception was coming closer, all of the wedding guests found themselves waiting for the couple to waltz in. Aven and Jillian entered the reception venue, hand in hand, making their reception entry perfectly simple. The couple’s first dance was nothing short of beautiful. Jillian had taken off her wedding cape to dance freely. As the couple waltzed along the hardwood floor, all of the wedding guests looked at them in awe. Then the two lovebirds parted ways to dance with their families before exiting the dance floor to let the guests get the party started. As the guests danced, and the couple sat down at their sweetheart's table, the couple watched on with happy smiles. The speeches by the maid of honor, the best man, and the family members were heart-touching and had every guest’s attention. The couple smiled as they heard the story of their love from different perspectives. And then, after the wedding cake-cutting ceremony was done, the couple sat down to relax and watch their close family and friends celebrate their love. Grinning, softly talking, and gesturing, it was easy to see that these two were not only in love but were extremely happy about it. Before the day came to a close, the last of the wedding events was the wedding exit. Like everything else, Aven and Jillian had decided on leaving the wedding venue with excitement but in a minimalistic way. All the guests gathered around to bid the couple goodbye and wish them all the best as they started a new chapter in their lives, together. When the two lovebirds walked out of the venue, our wedding photographer did too. They knew they hadn’t witnessed a love so soft, tender, and beautiful as theirs.
