A Pastel Themed Spring Wedding At The Waterfall Banquets In Philly
July, 26 2021
“It's spring again. I can hear the birds sing again. See the flowers start to bud. See young people fall in love.” - Lou Rawls
If we’ve learned one thing, it is that ‘there is nothing like spring weddings!’ Steeped with an abundance of blooming flowers and dreamy pastel shades along with dramatic garden-inspired details and rising temps for ideal outdoor events, spring weddings are so special for us. We cannot forget to mention how the days get longer and the nature around us comes out alive in pretty pastels, blooming cherry blossoms, and fresh greenery! Also, the magical light-toned wedding colors that cast magic spells truly steal our hearts every year when couples spruce up their weddings in pastel wedding palettes consisting of light pinks, powder blues, whites, orchids, and blushed shades.
Springtime wedding décor ideas are ideal for both indoor and outdoor wedding settings. The blooming florals like white peonies, lavender, lily of the valley, white roses, ranunculus, and pale pink sweetheart roses along with the pastel-colored details like cocktails garnished with edible orchids and berries or bridesmaids wearing light-toned co-coordinated attires while preparing for a spring wedding day, every big and little detail about this season and its celebrations sweep us with their beauty. Since a wedding marks the beginning of a brand-new life, the season of spring is seen as the time of renewal, and hence it is metaphorically considered to be the best season to tie the knot and begin “forever.”
Apart from the colors and florals associated with spring nuptials, spring-inspired wedding attires and accessories have also managed to make a mark in our hearts with their sheer elegance and dreaminess. We’ve seen brides wearing long flowing floral maxi gowns for their spring soirée along with grooms blazing spring-inspired ties and boutonnieres that pierce through the ceilings screaming “elegance.” Not to mention, spring wedding dessert ideas are not only delectable but are aesthetically pretty, and definitely photo-worthy. Coming out of deep winter dessert hues featuring red velvets and dark chocolate ganache, spring wedding cakes are truly palate cleanser as they are made out of flavors like lemon, raspberry, or vanilla and dressed up with edible fresh flowers or succulents.
Maybe this is the reason why Deidrhe and Darreal, our next couple, swept us off our feet with their chic wedding day in Philadelphia. The city of Philadelphia is every professional photographer’s goal to capture dreamy couples in love against the sweeping panoramas that this Pennsylvanian place has to offer. Filled with historical spots and heritage landmarks, getting married in Philly seemed like the perfect idea for our stunning couple for all the right reasons. We truly love how our wedding photographers in Philadelphia enjoy bringing in the historic cityscapes decked out with cobblestone pathways and sparkling waterfronts, as well as the landmarks tucked in stunning skyscrapers soaring above the Philadelphia skyline. From the western part of the city featuring the sparkling banks of the Schuylkill River and a vast belt of green containing numerous Federal-style mansions to the southern part containing graciously restored eighteenth-century buildings, every corner of Philly speaks for itself in dramatic wedding portraits. For couples planning to get married in Philadelphia or looking to commemorate their brand-new relationship status in some of the best photogenic spots of Philadelphia can surely get what they’re looking for in the vast city.
Talking about photo opportunities in Philly, the historic Liberty Bell Pavilion which has been considered as a symbol of freedom and independence in the US is one of the most iconic landmarks for engagement photography. Sitting across the Liberty Bell Pavilion lies the Independence Hall, which nestles as a crown jewel in the Independence National Historical Park. Probably America's most historic square mile, the Independence National Historical Park features several historic buildings and cobblestone streets with horse-drawn carriages that are loved for engagement photography sessions in Philadelphia. Also, if you’re an artsy type, then you can head to the Philadelphia Museum of Art that contains the second-largest collection of paintings and artworks in the entire US. The Neoclassical building fronted by a broad set of stairs is the perfect backdrop for engagement portraits in Philly.
Another significant icon, the Reading Terminal Market is a deeply rooted Philadelphia institution and has been considered as a National Historic Landmark. The most iconic couple photo backdrop of not only Philadelphia but the entire world, the legendary LOVE sculpture by Robert Indiana and installed in John F. Kennedy Plaza for America's Bicentennial celebration in 1976 is the place that celebrates “love” like no other place. Filled with green areas, trees, walking paths, benches, and open paved areas, the LOVE Park has numerous photo opportunities for couple photographers to capture lovestruck duos. If you would like to spend some time away from the city hustle and bustle, then head to Fairmount Park, nestled quietly along the Schuylkill River and Wissahickon Creek. The 2000 acres park is a National Historic Landmark that is also home to several tourist attractions of Philadelphia.

Before the wedding ceremony began, the couple chose to get ready at The Logan Philadelphia, Curio Collection by Hilton. The day started bright and shiny on the early spring morning of 2021. As the bride got ready, our photographers captured some brightly lit bridal portraits in the expansive suite of this luxurious hotel in Philadelphia. The bride’s getting-ready portraits looked ethereal as Deidrhe donned her crisp white wedding dress and held her white wedding bouquet. She shone like a bright piece of jewelry in her beautiful bridal portraits. Our dashing groom Darreal rehearsed his handwritten wedding vows before heading for the ceremony and while doing it, our wedding photographers captured exclusive detailed groom portraits that captured the precious emotions behind these moments.
Deidrhe donned a crisp white strapless wedding dress with crisscross tie-back details on the back and a plunging sweetheart neckline in the front. The extra train of the chicly draped wedding gown swept the ground like a whimsical dream as she graced the wedding floor. Her neatly side-parted hair was left open with a trendy and sparkling headpiece. The wisps of curled hair caressed her pretty face on both sides. The elegant bridal jewelry consisting of a plain diamond necklace and dangling hoop earrings made her classy bridal look pop even more. A bridal bouquet featuring a bunch of white roses and baby’s breath completed her beautiful bridal attire.
Our dashing groom Darreal aced his classy all-white groom look by donning an off-white patterned casual suit with satin lapels and paired it with a crisp white shirt and a white bow. The beautiful white rose boutonniere graced his white suiting and the pair of white casual sneakers and formal pants looked especially chic. The golden watch was a great choice of groom accessory and beautifully completed the picture.
The best part of this wedding was how they orchestrated their “first look” on the grounds of this classic wedding venue in Philadelphia. Surrounded by majestic roman columns, trickling fountains, and lusciously towering trees, they had their first look at the quaint little arched bridge by the rustic gazebo of the venue. As Darreal waited for his beautiful bride with millions of hopes and dreams in his eyes, Deidrhe slowly walked up to him and tapped on his shoulders. And the way they both looked at each other in their all-white wedding attires for the first time, we all could see the air suddenly shifted with romantic and emotional vibes. The way they both embraced each other and how they couldn’t take their eyes off each other, gave us a Philadelphia wedding photography session that is filled with love, hope, and everything in between.
They had their “first look portraits” in the arched bridge and moved on to click beautiful couple portraits in front of the grand fountain. The cobblestone grounds and the breathtaking European details of this exclusive wedding venue in Philadelphia came to life in these detailed shots and made the wedding album even more elegant. They were soon joined by their bridal party and that was the first time we saw the classic wedding party attires that were so thoughtfully planned. The lavender detailed spring wedding attires of the bridesmaids looked straight from a bridal fashion magazine as they regrouped for an amazing bridesmaids’ portraits session in the ceremony space. The spring-inspired wedding bouquets carried by the bridesmaids completed the classic wedding party attire look.
The dashing men of the wedding party came blazing in blue-colored formal suiting and posed for some gorgeous family portraits before the wedding ceremony. The newlyweds were also joined by their parents for some beautiful wedding photos. The father-daughter portraits and the groom-mother portraits especially looked strikingly precious. These wedding portraits of the entire party comprising the closest people of our newlyweds truly stole our hearts and left us feeling emotional for a long time.
The wedding ceremony commenced after some time and the gorgeous couple took their first steps towards forever together. Deidrhe and Darreal exchanged their wedding vows and promised each other a lifetime of friendship and companionship. They kissed for the first time as a newly married couple and made their way out of the ceremony through a beautifully orchestrated wedding exit, and were cheered by everyone around them. They raised their toasts to a new life with others on the same arched bridge and managed to get a few more couple photos on the beautiful grounds of this chic Philadelphia wedding venue.
The evening wedding reception began at the Grand Ballroom of this sophisticated wedding venue that featured pure elegance. The wedding guests mellowed down for a memorable wedding reception party at this chic setting and spent time with each other. The tall crystal candelabra centerpieces graced the reception tables and the detailed shots captured the soaring 14-foot ceilings, towering Roman Corinthian marble columns, crystal chandeliers, and the expansive marble dance floor of this exquisite ballroom setting in Philadelphia. The sophisticated, smart accent lighting lit up the entire ambiance in a pink and golden glow.
