After getting ready Jacob and Colleen first headed to the lush green landscaped grounds of Washington Monument, with the late 19th-century monument standing as their backdrop. The scenic and historical grounds of Washington Monument shone brightly under the summer sun, creating striking pictures inundated with greenery and towering tall trees. They moved onto the various locations that had this monument as a backdrop starting from waterfront settings to cityscape settings, without missing out on a single photo opportunity in DC. No professional engagement photography session in Washington DC will ever be completed without photographing the Thomas Jefferson Memorial located in the Tidal Basin where blooming cherry trees express the natural beauty of Washington DC in all its grandeur. The circular and open-air structure of the Jefferson Memorial building with a shallow dome supported by a circular colonnade composed of 26 Ionic columns is an iconic backdrop for engagement photography in Washington DC. Our gorgeous couple was photographed when they struck their inspirational couple poses in the flight of granite and marble stairs and platforms that lead up to the Tidal Basin, flanked by granite buttresses. The purely Georgian white marble with an axed finish and the pink Tennessee marble flooring along with the intricately manicured garden area lent an out-worldly vibe to the Washington DC engagement photography session of Jacob and Colleen.
With the iconic Thomas Jefferson Memorial building fading in, the portrait couple shot looked like an explosion of life and color surrounded by a sea of summer shades. It was in this famous DC landmark where the historic White House was captured in the backdrop surrounded by the commanding view from The Memorial across the Tidal Basin to the Washington Monument. The intricately carved monumental structures standing tall on the National Mall area, where the couple was photographed looked straight out of an Egyptian folktale as the pristinely blue sky above looked like a daydream. Colleen changed into her bridal gown that was a white lacey modified-a-lined column dress with a sweetheart neckline and an embellished golden rose border that scooped down at the hem of the bridal dress. Jacob too changed into a traditional dashiki groom suit with golden embroideries, and the entire atmosphere was lit up with a traditional wedding glow. The crystal beaded chandeliers radiated a golden glow on the newlyweds as they swirled across the dance floor creating a vibrant wedding atmosphere. The joyful mood of everyone was discernible amidst candid waves of laughter and raised toasts, which was intricately captured by our talented team of wedding photographers in DC for creating a memorable wedding album that can be cherished for generations to come.
The love-struck newlyweds went on to cut the towering three-tier white wedding cake with golden borders and topped with the initials of the couple! The fondant wedding cake covered in vanilla frostings was only one of the many sweets to cap off the evening as the macarons, strawberry cupcakes, and caramelized brownies kept with the requisite drink of the wedding reception.
Without missing a single photo opportunity, Colleen and Jacob took some time off and went to the rooftop for some of the most opulent couple portraits we have ever seen. As the night sky over the waterfront setting lit up with fireworks, the couple stared on to the horizon, and bright illumination in the night sky completely reverberated with the new beginning of our DC couple. Jacob and Colleen reassured us with a heartening promise of the blissful nuptial journey, and the firework dimmed in the background while they kissed symbolized the firework in our hearts.
