A Tale of True Love, No Props Required

Props can be a fun way to tell your love story in photos. But sometimes the connection between two people is story enough.
Like in the case of Abby and Nicholas.
The Pittsburgh couple recently celebrated their upcoming nuptials with fun, candid Lily & Lime engagement photography … that is sure to be a style inspiration to many.
Sometimes playful. Sometimes posing. Sometimes purple. Abby and Nicholas ventured outdoors for their engagement shoot, taking advantage of some of the East Coast’s loveliest nature.
We think the two of them look pretty lovely too.
The couple looks coordinated without being “matchy-matchy” in Fifty Shades of Violet. We love the variety of purples -- lavender, grape, lilac, and heather -- in their clothing and accessory choices. Right down to the stripes in Nicholas’ bow-tie.
And while these photos feature more formal attire, the pose inspiration is pure whimsy … with a touch of prankster. You can feel the fun these two are having!
A quick change of clothing makes for an entire shift in feeling and photo possibilities.
Riding “horseback” wouldn’t look quite right in Abby’s sleeveless chiffon and scarf. But jeans and flats are perfect for more physical photos. (And for sitting on stairs.) Shots better suited to engagement rather than wedding photography.
Regardless of outfit, pose or background -- in all of these photos, the comfort and affection between these two shines through.
