May, 24 2023
There’s something about spring weddings. If you ask us, and we’re being honest here, we absolutely adore spring weddings. And we adore weddings, especially in different seasons, which reminds us of a beautiful spring wedding. Ashley and Kraig’s wedding was a beautiful early summer wedding, which reminded me of spring at its best. The wonderful wedding took place in Nashville and the wedding details were well planned out. We loved just how the day unfurled, and how the wedding aesthetic matched the lovely couple. Quirky and beautiful, the wedding photos not only tell us a lot about the love story these two have but also paint a romantic picture of everlasting love. We absolutely loved looking at the photos, and we’re pretty sure our wedding photographer had a blast covering this beautiful, rustic, and whimsical wedding. From the choice of the wedding venue to the lovely wedding bar, the couple had picked out pretty details for their special, special day. Their wedding day was colored with some of the freshest colors, and was beautiful in every possible way! Our photographer not only took beautiful photos of the couple, memorializing their wedding day for years to come. We fell in love with their wedding and the love they shared.
For the wedding, we’re going to Nashville. Ashley and Kraig were a Nashville couple, and that’s where they tied the knot. Nashville, also known as "Music City," is the capital and largest city of Tennessee. Located in the central part of the state, Nashville has become a popular destination for tourists from all over the world due to its vibrant music scene, rich history, and southern hospitality. One of the most iconic landmarks in Nashville is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This museum houses an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from the history of country music. Visitors can learn about the evolution of country music, explore interactive exhibits, and even see some of the iconic instruments played by legendary musicians such as Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. Another must-see attraction in Nashville is the Grand Ole Opry, a weekly country music stage concert that has been running since 1925. The Opry has hosted performances by some of the biggest names in country music, and visitors can experience the history and tradition of this iconic venue by attending a show or taking a backstage tour. Apart from its rich musical heritage, Nashville is also home to several historical sites and museums. The Belle Meade Plantation, for example, offers a glimpse into the antebellum history of the region. Visitors can tour the historic mansion and grounds, learn about the history of the plantation, and even sample some of the award-winning wines produced on-site. For those looking to experience the outdoors, Nashville has plenty of parks and natural areas to explore. The Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, for example, features 55 acres of botanical gardens, art installations, and walking trails. Meanwhile, Percy Priest Lake offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and hiking. Also, Nashville’s beauty and touristy attractions would be incomplete without sampling the city's famous hot chicken. This spicy, crispy fried chicken dish is a local specialty and can be found at restaurants and food trucks throughout the city. Nashville is a vibrant and welcoming city that offers something for everyone. From its rich musical history to its scenic natural areas and delicious cuisine, Nashville is a destination that is sure to leave a lasting impression on visitors.
The beautiful couple not only met here, but fell in love here, and we can imagine how amazing that must have been. To celebrate their love and start a new chapter in their lives together, the couple decided to book the Drakewood Farm for their wedding day! Nestled amidst the verdant rolling farmland, lies this charming gem of a wedding venue. A mere fifteen-minute drive from the bustling metropolis of Nashville, this tranquil space offers a rustic and idyllic countryside setting for a romantic wedding. With an impressive 1850 antebellum home as its centerpiece, the venue boasts three barns and sprawling 40-acre pastoral views, lending an air of enchantment to your nuptials. What truly sets Drakewood Farm apart is the sheer variety of ceremony and reception options available, from a whimsical, woodland ceremony, nestled amongst the trees, to a more refined and sophisticated open meadow ceremony. The venue's vintage decor, rustic charm, and romantic setting make it a natural choice for couples with a penchant for country chic, bohemian, or vintage-inspired weddings. It was here that the wedding guests, family, and closest friends of the couple, were gathered to see Ashley and Kraig tie the knot. The day’s color scheme was fresh and peppered with lovely bright colors. For the day, the couple chose to get dressed separately and not have a first-look photo session. When we saw the photos of the wedding day, we were excited and happy for the two, because their wedding planning was on-point!
The groom and groomsmen were the first to get ready and reach the wedding ceremony area in the venue. The theme for colors for their outfits was simple, pastel blue. The groom and groomsmen were dressed in similar formal suits and had brown shoes to complete their outfits. To keep their wedding day outfit similar, they chose to pair it with mint green ties, and white boutonnieres, which had some greenery. The father of the bride and the groom were dressed in black formal suits, paired with black ties. And the other boys in the wedding ceremony were dressed in light gray suits with baby pink ties. After the boys were dressed, our Nashville wedding photographer took photos of the bride and her bridal party. As the excitement of the wedding day was swelling in the air, the bride’s getting-ready outfit was a simple satin robe. As the bridesmaids were getting ready, our photographer took some photos of the bride putting on her bridal makeup and having her bridal hairstyle done for the day. Then our photographer took some brilliant photos of the wedding dress, which was a lovely ivory mermaid bridal gown. The mother of the bride and the groom helped Ashley get dressed for the day and posed for a few photos. As the girls were getting ready to make their way to the wedding ceremony, our photographer took some photos of the beautiful wedding venue and the decor these lovebirds had decided to use for their wedding. The entryway to the venue was a rustic wooden backdrop which was made of wood planks stacked up on each other, this backdrop was made brilliantly rustic by adding mirrors and empty mirror frames for the rustic charms. Along the entryway, another rustic detail added a wonderful charm to the wedding decor, it was a frame of a doorway, paint chipping off and complete with greenery on top. The wedding venue was heavy on floral decor, with white, yellow, and pink floral bouquets peppering the venue. The wedding ceremony arbor was a lovely blend of heavy woven greenery with floral decor, which made us remember spring wedding decor as well. To complete the wooden wedding arbor, the couple decided to add some white drapes to the mix, which made the look especially wondrous. Ashley and Kraig’s outdoor wedding ceremony was held in between the woods, which made the ceremony look perfect.
And then the wedding ceremony area was filled with the wedding guests, the groom entered the ceremony with his groomsmen and waited for the bride to walk in. The bride and bridesmaids had left their dressing room and made their way to the wedding ceremony area. The bridesmaids were dressed in mismatched colors. The bridesmaid outfits looked like a beautiful pink gradient. For the wedding ceremony, the couple had chosen to add elegant wedding signage, which had gold borders and was telling the wedding guests to pick any side. They called their wedding ceremony an “unplugged” celebration. Then before the ceremony began, the ring bear, the flower girl, and the wedding usher came in. The usher had signage that said, “Wait till you see her.” And then the bride entered, walked down the aisle with her father, and made her way to the wedding altar, where the love of her life was waiting for her. Kraig helped Ashley up to the altar and smiled. And then the wedding officiant took everyone through the ceremony, the couple exchanged their eloquent wedding vows, exchanged their rings, and quietly smiled before they sealed their marriage with a beautiful kiss. And then, the couple walked down the aisle as a married couple, smiling and giggling. After the ceremony, as the wedding guests took a break, the couple decided to pose for photos with their families and friends. They posed with their families, separately first and then posed for wedding group photos. Then the bride and the groom posed with some of their closest friends. After that, Ashley posed with her bridesmaids, and Kraig posed with his groomsmen. Then, before the wedding reception party, the couple chose to pose together. The bridesmaids and groomsmen together. These group photos were directed by our photographer who had them pose in pairs in the group photo. After that, the couple posed for some amazing couple photos. The outdoors of the venue was the perfect backdrop for the couple to pose for the photos.
Ashley and Kraig posed in front of the beautiful signage that spelled out “Love” and then they found a beautiful white swing where the two posed in some cute poses. Before the two left our photographer to take a short break, our photographer also took photos of the two kissing softly and their wedding rings. And then, the two took a short break before joining their wedding reception party with their loved ones. It was during this time that our wedding photographer took photos of the wedding details that they chose for their wedding celebrations. Our photographer took photos of the beautiful tablescape that the couple chose, which was beautiful rustic-style tables with blue stain runners, with white cutlery. A beautiful wooden plank signage that said happily ever after was placed with a pretty bucket of small flowers. For their wedding cake, the couple chose a pretty white three-tier wedding cake which was topped off with a wedding cake topper and edible dusty rose-colored roses. The wedding cake decor was made of beautiful caramel drips. Every table had a massive floral centerpiece, which was big and beautiful. The floral centerpiece was made of similar flowers to the other floral arrangements at the wedding. The wedding sweetheart table was made with the same details. The couple had decided to have a small station at their wedding for drinks. Since they were wine lovers, they had a table with bottled wine which was strawberry wine. As for the details, the wedding décor included some extra charms and the reception was peppered with brilliant details, which tied in with the couple’s idea of a perfect wedding. There was a brilliant wall hanging with many quotes. The wedding venue had a beautiful couch, which had personalized pillows. These pillows had Mr and Mrs written on them with gold.
The couple entered their wedding reception party with smiles. The barn-style beauty of the wedding venue was perfect for the charming couple, as they took the chance to have their first dance. As the couple twirled, the wedding guests looked at them with awe in their eyes. That aside, the beautiful couple was happy. Then the couple danced with their families and enjoyed the night. As the night was coming to a close they enjoyed themselves with their wedding guests. The couple talked, shared memories, and posed for photos. The couple decided to take the time and the moment to enjoy the outdoors. As the wedding guests were enjoying the wedding and dancing, the two decided to pose for some photos outdoors. With the help of our wedding guests, these two lovebirds enjoyed the outdoors and captured some of the most romantic photos. The two slowly danced, twirled, smiled, and hugged for the camera. And then, they decided to join their wedding party again. Then the couple had their wedding cake-cutting ceremony surrounded by their wedding guests before the wedding dinner was served. As the dinner was being served, the couple’s closest friends and family had their stage for the speeches. And then, when it was time to say goodbye, Ashley decided to change her outfit. The beautiful bride for the day put on a lovely cocktail dress, which had many fringes. As she was making her way out, Kraig and Ashley found a pretty area, where they slow danced, all by themselves. Our photographer took a photo of the same. And then, the couple had their grand wedding exit. Our photographer bid them goodbye as they started a new life together. As the couple left the wedding venue, our photographer couldn’t help but feel awe and fuzzy on the inside, after all, Ashley and Kraig’s wedding was nothing short of pure joy.
