Christian & Matthew’s Winsome New York Wedding
October, 5 2017
Christian and Matthew tied the knot with a fantastic fête that was dapper, daring and downright fun. Their New York wedding photographer was ready to capture the spirit of the day to stunning effect.
Forget superstition about not seeing your partner before the ceremony! Christian and Matthew got ready for their wedding together, and we love it! They helped pin boutonnieres on each other and secure each other’s cufflinks. It made for such a great photo-op. Plus, who better to calm those wedding-day jitters than the person you’re about to spend the rest of your life with?
They kept their wedding party small and intimate. The groomsmen wore black suits with a touch of yellow in the bow ties, boutonnieres and pocket squares. The ladies wore black dresses and carried white and yellow flowers tied with a yellow ribbon. We absolutely love that Christian and Matthew chose to wear matching suits with tails, replete with yellow vests for a dashing touch.
Yellow is a charming color for a fall wedding, and Christian and Matthew showed us how well it can work. The yellow and orange hues in the changing leaves complemented the yellow bow ties, vests and flowers. It’s a great way to embrace the autumnal backdrop while keeping things bright and lively.
Christian and Matthew tied the knot during their church ceremony, then moved the celebrations to Metropolitan Room at the Newark Club for the reception. The newlyweds incorporated their wedding colors of yellow and black into the table settings, but our favorite part about the reception had to be that breathtaking view of the New York skyline.
Christian and Matthew knocked it out of the park with their wedding cake. They had a four-tier confection decorated in a way that was cheerful, playful and sophisticated. They managed to rock the perfect balance of simplicity while still showcasing a ton of personality. We love the polka dots, the gold bands at the bottom of each tier and the waterfall of black and white flowers cascading down each tier.
