Jessica And Brian’s Outdoor Washington D.C. Engagement Session With Their Furry Pal
April, 5 2023
When our engagement photographer met the love Washington D.C. couple, they were greeted with a love so pure that put the love stories in romance novels to shame. Jessica and Brian were not only chirpy and happy but so in love with each other. The two lovebirds were not only excited for their day with our Washington D.C. engagement photographer but also full of different ideas. During their photo session, the couple had a blast with our photographer. When we saw the photos of the day, we could see exactly what they felt and were super excited about them and their upcoming wedding. Right after they met our engagement photographer, they excitedly talked about the poses they wanted to try and the kind of engagement photos they wanted to take for their outdoor photo session. The couple was also full of ideas for their wedding photos, despite the wedding being quite far away. We were happy to know that because it was easy to see that these two cannot wait to tie the knot and start a new journey together! For their photo session, the couple decided to step away from the popular engagement photography locations in Washington D.C. Instead, they chose to have a blend of an urban and natural photo session. The couple was still in the process of planning their wedding, but they had made some bookings. For the day, our couple met our photographer early in the day, because they wanted to capture the urban setting of the city before it was too crowded.
There’s something very fascinating about the nation’s capital. D.C. is one of those cities where the reputation of the city precedes its name, and rightfully so. The city has always been the seat of political maneuvering, a place of discussion for nationality, and a city of many debates. Founded back in 1790, the history of the city is exceptionally colorful, and the implications are ever-lasting. This dynamic city has seen many things and is home to stories of a rich history like no other place in the country. The establishment of the city in itself is a long story. After the establishment of the city, the city was entirely destroyed in 1812, and it was during the war against Great Britain. During the War of 1812, the British army invaded the capital and burned everything, which included the newly completed White House, the Library of Congress along with its books, and the Capitol. After the devastation, the city continued to be small and grew even smaller when the land from Virginia was retroceded. And then after 1862, which was after the Civil War, D.C. saw growth and slowly became the city, we know now. After the Civil War, the city continued to grow and even had an army. After the war, the city saw a significant expansion, in terms of area. The first neighborhoods of the city were the areas around Capitol Hill, the White House, and the Center Market, which is the downtown area. As the city grew, surrounding areas, including rural areas and Georgetown were absorbed into the city. By 1901, many other proposed plans gave the city its beautiful crown jewel, the National Mall, which expanded under the McMillan Plan. From that point onwards, the city saw considerable growth in the 20th century. Even though some parts of the city emptied out during the ‘60s and ’70s, people are moving back into the city now and those areas are now undergoing an urban renaissance.
As of now, the city remains to be one of the most vibrant cities in the country and is home to a diverse culture, which gives the city an amazing vibe. Being one of the most visited cities in the country, this place has a host of things to do and see. Since it has always been a hotspot for historical events and relevance, there are a number of museums that celebrate the city’s political past. Most of the best museums are lined along a row in the Mall. These museums are great spots for taking historic and amazing photos of urban architecture. Apart from that, the city is known for its eclectic vibe and amazing American arts and music. Washington D.C. has a rich past with jazz music and punk. The city is home to many small theaters, including Studio Theatre, and Arena Stage, that showcase works by non-traditional writers. Apart from this, the city is home to water bodies, many beautiful canals, quaint parks, and a colorful downtown area. Some of the best places to visit in the city are the Smithsonian museums, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, take a walking tour in a historic neighborhood, take a trip down the Compass Rose, Explore Georgetown, and experience boating in D.C. and much more.
This is the city that our lovely couple called home and in typical D.C. fashion, the stylish couple was excited to explore their city with a fresh set of eyes. Being one of the most visited cities in the country, the city is home to many amazing spots, all of which double down as engagement photo session locations. But Jessica and Brian did not want to go to the touristy places or even use the most popular places in the city as their engagement photo shoot backdrop. Instead, the couple chose a quaint part of urban space, which at first glance looks like you’re in the city’s bustling downtown area. Another part that the couple chose was a tunnel near the downtown area, which sort of gave us the look of the many canals in the city. And lastly, the couple had picked out a beautiful, and peaceful park for some nature-inspired photos. For their photo shoot, the couple decided to put on complimenting outfits for their engagement session. Jessica and Brian had decided to change their outfits for the day. The two wanted their engagement photos to not only look beautiful but also wanted to look stylish in them! And we approved of their decision, every location in D.C. that these two had picked out worked in harmony with their chosen outfits. For the first outfit, Jessica had decided to wear a beautiful sea-green dress, with puffy sleeves and tan heels. Her second outfit for the engagement photo session was a beautiful black dress, which she paired with a lovely denim jacket and black heels. Brian chose two different outfits, one was formal and the other was casual. The first outfit he chose was a formal two-piece casual suit, with a navy blue dress jacket, charcoal gray pants, and brown shoes. And for the second outfit, chose a lovely salmon pink shirt with tan pants and gray shoes.
The first set of photos that the couple took were in an area that was a lovely blend of Georgetown and the downtown area of the city. The picturesque beauty of the area was hard to miss. Peppered with artistic architecture, retro vibes, and colorful flower beds and greenery, the space fit our couple perfectly. The area made us feel like if sunshine was personified, it would most likely look like this. As Jessica and Brian explored the area with our photographer, they talked about taking photos with their furry pal. The brown furry baby was excited, and wagging their tail to be a part of the photo session. The couple said that they wanted their pet baby to be a part of their photo session. Their pet baby was well-behaved and a happy one. Our photographer had no trouble handling this pet-friendly photo session in the city. Before moving into the tunnels, Jessica and Brian posed in front of the brick walls and took some photos. And then the couple chose to take some photos with flowers in the background. As our photographer helped them pose for their photos, the couple confided that they had booked the wedding venue for their wedding day. The wedding venue for the wedding was the beautiful Bristow Manor Golf Club. Before our photographer could help them change their pose, Jessica placed her head on Brian’s shoulder, and our photographer took the photo. With the red flowers blooming in the background and the sunshine softly falling on the back side of Brian’s head, the photo looked like a postcard photo!
Then the two walked around the area, our photographer helped them pick out complimenting backdrops for amazing engagement photos. Our photographer directed them with romantic photo poses, which brought out the best in both of them. The two lovebirds explored the area, hand-in-hand, with broad smiles on their faces. Being naturally themselves, they posed in front of a brick wall. The dark tonality of the brick wall made it seem like it was a moss-covered wall, which made their romantic photos look even better. Then the two found a pretty place with a paved path, bounded by trees and shrubs to pose with their fur baby. Their four-legged pal was super easy to work with and easily posed for the photos. Then walking with their pet baby on a leash, the two smiled as they looked for more spots. Then they decided to walk to the area that reminded them of the many canals in the city. The tunnel was a lovely mix of urban architecture all around, and a soft entrance to an underground tunnel. The tunnel walls were orange brick walls, with some elemental black details. The entire ambiance of the tunnel made it seem that these two lovebirds were in a different city altogether. They posed for a few lovely photos there, before walking back to the original spot.
As they were making their way back, they decided to change their outfits and pose for more photos. But before they could do that, the couple found a beautiful spot, a small channel between two walls. Seeing this as an opportunity, the couple posed for some amazing photos! Brian hugged Jessica and smiled, and Jessica carefully placed her hands on his shoulders. Both of them looked deeply in love in those photos, it warmed our hearts. Then Jessica showed her ring to our photographer. Taking the opportunity, our photographer took a photo of her engagement ring placed in her palm. The two also found a wall with some greenery growing on it, and they wanted to take some photos with it! The bride-to-be posed for a few solo photos, and then took Brian’s hand and posed for some more photos. Then, as Brian stood there, looking at Jessica, she kissed his forehead. As the two were making their way back to change their outfits, they found a beautiful swing. They decided to take a few photos at the moment and then decided to come back to it after they had changed their outfits. They snuggled together, Jessica placed a soft kiss on Brian’s forehead, and he closed his eyes, looking amazing. Then the two decided to put on their second outfit for the day.
After they changed their outfits, the couple took some more photos. This time around, instead of simply focusing on the areas with some architectural changes, the couple chose to pose in the areas with a lot of nature, shrubs, and flowers. Before that, they went back to the swing to pose for some amazing photos. They looked extremely happy and had a child-like charm to them. And then they walked around the area to take some more photos, which helped them to take some more photos in motion, as they walked. And then the couple decided to find some interesting spots with nature and greenery only. As they explored with their furry-pawed friend, our photographer took some candid photos of the two, for them to remember the moment. Then the couple found a lovely front of a building. The entrance was bounded by some amazing potted plants and interesting floral details! Before they could pose, our photographer saw that the couple was looking into each other’s eyes and smiling, so our photographer took a photo! The photo turned out to be amazing! As the sun was making its descent, the two decided to take advantage of the golden hour and took some more photos of areas with nature bounding them. Then, our photographer suggested using the space which seemed to embody the charms of the city’s downtown area. Our couple was more than happy to do that because they agreed that the city’s architecture would look beautiful at the time. So our photographer helped them pose for some urban-inspired photos. The couple twirled around in the corners of the street, the air was filled with their giggles and laughter. Then the two walked around a bit, and our photographer took photos of the two as they enjoyed themselves. Our photographer helped them pose in green areas and the paths that had the backdrop of some buildings. And just like that, the day of exploration with a bright and happy couple in D.C. came to an end. As our photographer showed them some photos on their camera, they saw how happy the two were with their photos. As our photographer took their leave for the day, they waved Jessica and Brian goodbye and thought about how their wedding day will look. We’re sure, the couple will plan their wedding down to the last detail and it will be absolutely beautiful.
