Jessica and Christopher’s Sumptuous Winter Wedding, Chicago
December, 22 2017
Jennifer and Christopher’s Chicago winter wedding was a wondrous affair. The couple said, “I do,” in a ceremony at St. Francis Xavier before heading to their gorgeous reception at the Aberdeen Manor Ballroom.
Ivory and red were the primary colors of the day. We love the pairing of these two colors. The ivory keeps things light, bright, and winter white. The pop of red makes a bold statement and brings a warmth to the color palette of the festivities.
During bridal prep, Jessica and her bridal party looked chic in monogrammed buffalo check plaid shirts. It kept the bridal party cozy while getting ready, made for knockout wedding photography, and the button down front made it easy to change without messing up their hair. With this classic winter staple, the girls can rock their plaid shirts long after the wedding.
Jessica wore a stunning satin dress for the big day. She paired it with a simple veil and topped the look off with a fur stole. Fur stoles and capes are a popular option for winter wedding bridal accessories because they keep you warm and looking stylish! Jessica added a special touch for her “something blue.” She wore a sapphire ring with a diamond halo. It was a stunning way to incorporate tradition!
Christopher offered Jessica a special token on the day of their wedding, writing a note on the bottom of her wedding shoes for the day of. We love this sweet idea! It’s a simple way to do something special, and that way Jessica was able to have a little piece of Christopher with her as she walked down the aisle.
Between the events of the day, the couple took their wedding portraits outside. It was so charming to see the winter landscape. We love the way they incorporated Chicago elements into their wedding photos— with a dip in the middle of the street! You could really see their love radiating in the photos.
The couple also brought some personal touches to their reception décor. Their cake topper featured a sophisticated design, paired with the cheeky inscription. “I love you. I know.” Guests were able to choose from a menu of wedding signature cocktails— which can be a great way to personalize the experience at your reception.
Of course, Jessica and Christopher had something extra special planned for their winter wedding. As the couple performed their first dance, confetti that looked like snow fell from the ceiling. It looked like they were waltzing in a winter wonderland.
