Jose And Kristie’s Playfully Flamboyant Photo Session In Atlanta
May, 4 2023
Atlanta is a beautiful city, there are no two ways about that. This southern city has been dubbed, Hotlanta, and rightly so. The sprawling city is known for its urban vibe mixing with pretty nature. Most of the city is covered with forest instead of a city, but that hasn’t stopped the city from being a pretty urban location. This cultural hub is known for many of its museums, theaters, and eateries. It is here that our engagement photographer met Jose and Kristie, a lovely couple. The two had booked an engagement photo session with our photographer, and were excited to get their day started. The couple had decided to have their photo session outdoors. Their outdoor photography session with our Atlanta engagement photographer was a fun and happy experience, for both. Our photographer was excited and happy to take photos of the lovely couple, and the two lovebirds were exceptionally happy to pose for their engagement session. When our photographer met the two, the couple had already decided on the wedding date and their wedding venue. For the engagement session, the two wanted to explore the abundant natural areas of the city, which is why they decided to have their photographs taken at Piedmont Park in the city. And their wedding venue was booked at Piedmont Room, which was close to the park. The couple was excited, full of smiles, and had a bounce in their step, like new lovers.
The engagement photo session was scheduled to start early in the morning. The couple had decided that they wanted to explore the area with each other and take some amazing photos for the day. Jose and Kristie shared that they were looking to use some props for their photo session, and wanted to see authentic photos of each other. Our photographer understood what they were looking for and was happy to help them pose for their photos. The two lovebirds were dressed to nines in two different outfits during their photo session. One of the best ways to describe the couple is the word “flamboyant.” The outfits for the engagement photo session were stylish and simple. Jose and Kristie had decided to change outfits so that they could look different during the same photo session. Both of the outfits they had picked out for the day were stylish. For the first outfit for their engagement photo session, the couple picked out a formal outfit. Kristie had picked out a beautiful aqua-blue flowy sleeveless dress. She paired her blue dress with a white pair of heels. Jose, on the other hand, put on a lovely gray suit, with a navy blue shirt and a blue patterned tie for the day. And he finished off his look with a two-piece suit by putting on a pair of black dress shoes. The lovebirds had decided to keep their hairstyles the same, even after they changed into their second set of outfits. For the first part of their outdoor photo session with our photographer, the couple decided to explore the greener parts of Piedmont Park.
Their choice of photo location for the day was perfect and our photographer loved it. The park, Piedmont Park, is filled with winding paths, lakesides, and some amazing gazebos! The gazebos in the park are pretty, white, and blue with carved pillars. The park also offers you a view of the city skyline. The history of the park goes as far back as 1822. Before Piedmont Park was an urban park, as it is now, this park started off as a forest, which was then turned into a farm, which was then used as a fairground, and then it turned into a suburban park before taking shape as it is now. Today, this urban park is known for being the focal point of the city’s Midtown community and is home to multiple celebrations and events throughout the year, which include Music Midtown, Atlanta Black Pride, Atlanta Pride Festival, and more. This was the photo location of the day. The beautiful park also has a Woods and Graves walking tour which takes people through the park and its beautiful offerings. It was here, where the lovely couple had their photo session! For the first section of the photo session, when the couple was dressed in formal outfits, the two decided to have a few of their favorite signage boards to pose with for their photos. The first prop that they used was a rectangular board, which was like a chalkboard. This black chalkboard-like signage had a short love quote written on it, which said, “To have and to hold forever and always.” The other prop, which was also a signage was heart-shaped and had a Spanish phrase written on it, which said, “Los Enamorados.” This Spanish phrase is literally translated to “lovers.” Our photographer saw the photo session props and was happy to start from there. The beautiful park welcomed the couple with open arms and brought them close to nature. Both of them posed with the signage, and our engagement photographer took photos of the signage only. After our photographer took the photos of the couple with their photo session props, our photographer took photos of the two as they began exploring the photo location in Atlanta. The greenery in the park was perfect at the time our photographer and the couple was there.
The next place that our photographer, Jose, and Kristie had been to was the beautiful wall in the park, which sectioned off a few areas. Our photographer helped the couple pose for a romantic photo. Jose softly leaned into her, softly taking her to the patterned wall. The pattern on the wall was simple, it was like a mosaic of stones. As the couple walked by the wall, our photographer took a few more photos of the two as they walked away from them. The couple found a quaint spot across the waterfront and the city’s tall buildings on the other side of the park, where they posed for a photo. Our photographer angled the photo in such a way that Jose and Kristie took away the other details, like the buildings, the waterfront, and the horizon! The pose for this photo was also romantic, Jose had hugged Kristie from the back. Both of them had amazing smiles on their faces, which made it easy for us to understand that they were deep in love and just happy to be around each other. Walking further, the couple decided to dance a little! Enjoying each other’s company, the couple danced to a tune that only they could hear. Our photographer took a few amazing photos, where the two were dancing, smiling, and giggling. Before the couple decided to move to other spots in the park, our photographer took another photo in the spot, which was an “in-the-moment kind of” photo. As Kristie and Jose held each other, right after they stopped dancing, to decide where they should go next, our photographer took a photo of them. And then, they knew exactly where to go!
The lovely couple was not only in the mood to use beautiful quotes as their engagement photo session prop, but they also wanted to use a sombrero, which is a Spanish hat. This Spanish hat is characterized by a broad brim and is a high-crowned hat, which can be made out of felt or straw. The history of the hat goes back to the 15th century, and the name of the hat comes from the literal Spanish word, “shade.” So, Jose and Kristie had brought a hat made of straw, and intended to use it for their photo session. As the couple moved to the different shaded spots of their chosen photo location, Jose brought out the beautiful straw hat. This added a lively, fun touch and a cultural element to the photo session. Jose handed the sombrero to Kristie and helped her put it on. The moment Kristie put it on, she started giggling and laughing. Jose was enjoying looking at his soon-to-be–bride. The couple found a path along the trees and shrubs, where they walked hand-in-hand for their photos and had the hat on. The couple could not stop giggling. And for the last section of the photo session in their outfits, the couple chose an open space in the park. Piedmont Park had a lawn, which spanned over a large space. This space was bounded by trees, and the buildings of the city loomed over it. However, this place looked like a small refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here they walked on the grass, ran like teenagers in love, and posed for photos! Kristie walked in front of Jose, and he held onto her hand. For these photos, in the space with grass, Kristie walked with the elegance of a ballet dancer. The poise and positioning of her arms reminded us of a graceful ballet dancer. Then our photographer walked in front of them and took a photo of the two from a different angle. By this time, a light breeze had started to blow, and as Kristie lifted the frills of her dress to pose for a photo, the breeze gently nudged the skirt and made it easier for her. These engagement photos looked beautiful! Before changing into their second outfits, they found a stairway. Using the stairway, they posed for a few lovely and romantic photos. Our photographer chose a spot with the perfect lighting and angle, then helped them to pose for a few photos. Before they left, they posed for a romantic photo where they kissed each other. The couple also playfully posed in front of a building in the photo location. The building’s white and blue color scheme was a great backdrop for their playful photos.
After this, Jose and Kristie decided to change their outfits. The second outfit of the day was the opposite of the first outfit. Kristie decided to put on a pair of deep blue jeans, pointed flats, and a white flowy blouse with blue details on it. Jose also chose blues for his attire, he chose a deep blue shirt with horizontal lines, a light blue pair of jeans, and brown shoes paired with a deep brown belt. After they put on new outfits, they posed for a few more photos. For these outfits, their photos were posed, but very natural. They decided to start from the edges of the waterbody, posing in the shade for the camera. Then they walked around, exploring the beauty of the park. It was then that they found an open space, a lawn that was bounded by trees all around. The lawn was peppered with fallen leaves, which only gave a romantic aesthetic to the park. Our photographer took a few photos of the couple sitting down, and enjoying the lawn. It was here that our photographer helped the couple pose for a few more romantic photos. Asking them to sit closely and asking Kristie to turn so that the pose could turn out to be playful as well. And then, our photographer helped the two by asking them to pose in one of the most traditional couple poses, which was to have Jose pick up Kristie! And just like that, Jose picked her up, and Kristie ended up giggling because she was happy. Our photographer took a photo of the two as they leaned in to kiss each other. Then, our photographer helped the couple by putting on the straw hat. Kristie was smiling at him when he had his hat on. And for the last photos of the day, they walked to the gazebos in the park where the couple posed in front of it. The gazebo was right in front of the water, and the city’s skyscraper horizon. The couple posed in front of the gazebo, instead of going to it. These photos were photo-frame-worthy, and even Instagram-worthy! And just like that, the couple was done with their outdoor engagement photo shoot in Atlanta. Our photographer was happy to help them make the most of their engagement and was excited to see these two get married. After seeing the photos we agree with our photographer, these put a whole new meaning to being in love. We were happy to see their natural photos, even in the photo poses, their eyes, the twinkle in their eyes, and the pretty, extremely genuine smiles, made us feel the love that these two shares with each other.
