Kristina and Brett’s Splashy Wedding, Tampa
June, 25 2018
Kristina and Brett had a multi-hued, modern take on their Tampa, FL wedding. The couple tied the knot at the Davis Island Garden Club in mid-May, and it was a simple yet vibrant affair.
The Davis Island Garden Club is a stunning option for Tampa-based couples because of its lush greenery, tropical plants, exquisite view of the sunset, and last but not least, its proximity to downtown Tampa. These factor combine to make it an idyllic spot, full of wonder, that’s also convenience for guests. The robust gardens and waterfront walkway are an added bonus that provide great opportunities for wedding photo ops and for guests to mill the grounds during cocktail hour.
Kristina’s bridal look was an elegant, modern silhouette. The architectural detail in her dress was captured by the photographer, who hung the dress and photographed it on its own when Kristina and the bridesmaids were getting ready. So much care often goes into the selection of the dress, and we love when dresses get their own photo moment before the hustle and bustle of the day ensues.
Kristina’s dress featured a drop waist and asymmetrical gown. The fitted silhouette kept things simple and clean, and the ruched details gave it some extra drama. It was topped off with a blush sash to define her waist and paired with the ultimate bridal accessory: a pair of Manolo Blahniks. In addition to being dream-status shoes, the blue pumps photographed beautifully, and they gave us an early idea of the bold color story they had created for the day.
Brett looked dapper in a white suit with a blue shirt and coral tie. We love the bold colors used in this pairing. We like to think that the coral was a nod to Tampa’s warm, tropical surroundings. The groomsmen followed suit in white and their ties were coral. They mixed it up when they came to their shirts, though. The groomsmen’s wore black shirts with blue vests. This helped to give the grooms’ party a cohesive look while still giving Brett the focus. Not to be left out of the fun, the bridesmaids wore bright blue frocks that matched the blue of Kristina’s shoes and Brett’s shirt.
Kristina and Brett’s outdoor ceremony was quaint and romantic, replete with string lights and waterfront views. For the bouquets, the bride opted for some simple calla lilies. The small cluster of flowers complimented but didn’t compete with the ladies. The couple looked so happy and in love on the garden club grounds. Their genuine happiness made for lots of great photo ops. The variety of the grounds provided for a lot of different backdrops as well.
The couple celebrated with family and friends at their reception, and they saved one show-stopping moment for dessert. The couple had a three-tiered ombre blue cake, and they added cookies to the dessert table for guests to take home.
For their final flourish, Kristina and Brett left the reception with a sparkler exit. This dynamic and romantic exit was the perfect end to a colorful day.
