Mary And Royce’s Detroit Wedding Was Filled With Romance, Charming Touches, And Elegance!
November, 30 2022
Fall is the perfect season to tie the knot and rightfully so! Although a fall wedding, to most of us, is filled with the smell of cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and beautiful pumpkin decor, courtesy of the universal love of Halloween, every once in a while, there’s something different. Today, we’re here to talk about the lovely wedding of Mary MacKenzie and Royce Haas. The wedding was nothing short of beautiful, delicate wedding decor, and a celebration of love in all of its grandeur. Their wedding was filled with happy moments, the love of their family members, and the happy smiles of their closest friends; all of which gave the beautiful couple some happy wedding photos. Our Detroit wedding photographer met the couple as they were getting ready, right before leaving for their wedding ceremony venue, Historic Trinity Lutheran Church. The wedding day was scheduled to take place in two different venues, after the ceremony in the church, the reception party venue was about a 30-minute drive from the church in the Inn at St. John's Plymouth. Both of the venues for the wedding were as pretty as a picture, and when the couple walked into both of these venues, everything felt like it had just come to life. Before the day started, the couple was buzzing with excitement. With starry eyes, the two decided to get dressed for the day they had planned carefully over the past few months.
The couple had decided to get dressed separately. The getting-ready photos show how excited they were to get married. The weather on their wedding day had been perfect, it was neither sunny nor cloudy. The faintness in the sky gave the couple a magical sky to get photographed under. Additionally, being deep in the fall season, there was plenty of color in the environment that added to the magical touch of their wedding photos. As the soon-to-be bride stepped into her dressing room, she was dressed in a gray sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. Her dress was as wonderful as the bride's. It had a delicate lace design all over the wedding dress. She smiled and told our wedding photographer, as she held the dress up for him to take photos of, that she bought it from TheDress Shop. To improve the “getting-ready” experience, Mary had picked out a beautiful dress hanger that said “Mrs. Haas' on it in cursive lettering. She also held out the dress from the window of the room so that she could have a memory of the city in the background to look back on. For their getting-ready outfits, Mary and her bridesmaids dressed up in dark gray comfortable sweatshirts monogrammed with the bride’s initials, “KM.” The bride and the maid of honor were dressed in their sweatshirts but had blue jeans, while the other bridesmaids were dressed in black jeans. The groom had decided to spend some time with the boys before all of them, including the groom’s father, put on deep gray three-piece wedding suits, paired with red satin ties, pocket squares, and a boutonniere. The groom’s boutonniere was red, while the others had cream flowers.
As the time for the wedding ceremony came close, the bride and her bridesmaids got dressed for the day. Mary was the last to get dressed so that she could have help whenever she needed it. The bridesmaids had decided on wearing a maroon dress, while the maid of honor was dressed in a very light shade of peach, which almost looked white. Mary had asked her bridesmaids to wear whichever dress they liked as long as it was maroon, which honestly added a touch of spontaneity to their wedding. As she was getting dressed, Mary’s mother helped Mary fix the back of her dress. Mary’s white bridal shoes were resting right next to her large fall wedding bouquet. The bouquet was colorful, fitting the beauty of the season, and was filled with greenery along with lovely blooms. The bride’s parents had decided to get dressed in blue, the mother-of-the-bride wore a slightly shimmering dress, while the father-of-the-bride put on a beautiful blue two-piece suit. After posing for a quick photo with her parents, the bride quickly put on her veil, and twirled for her parents and bridesmaids, earning a few heartfelt sighs of happiness. And then, it was time for the wedding ceremony.
Mary and Royce had decided not to have a first-look photo session. Royce wanted to be surprised when he saw the love of his life enter the church, walk down the aisle and stand next to him at the altar, and that was. Royce stood at the altar, waiting for his soulmate to enter, he could barely keep still. While he waited, Mary walked in with her father, and the entire room went silent. All the wedding guests seated in the church held their breaths as Mary walked past them. Royce couldn’t keep his eyes off her, and Mary blushed a little as she took Royce’s hand to step up the altar. Surrounded by their loved ones, and close friends, the couple read their vows and sealed the wedding with a kiss. The moment they kissed the entire room erupted in happy smiles and claps. With that, they were married and the freshly married couple walked down the aisle arm in arm with happy, starry eyes. At the foot of the pews, where the guests were seated inside the church, the two kissed once more, with the pretty church in the background. Just like their wedding reception, which was yet to follow, the church was decorated with minimal decor and details. The couple had picked out large candlesticks to set the ambiance for the day. As the wedding guests were traveling to the reception venue, the couple decided to click some photos.
The couple used the space in the church to pose for some lovely wedding photos. After the guests had left the church, the couple walked up to the altar, then stood next to each other for a picture-perfect photo. The candlesticks and the minimal decor of the church made Mary and Royce stand out. Then Royce stepped out to speak to his parents and groomsmen, so our photographer made the most of the opportunity and took some bridal portraits. Mary was excited to have some solo photos taken and was eager to pose. Our photographer helped her to pose right in front of the altar. For the next photo, our photographer placed the veil in front of the bride and asked her to look to her right, only slightly. The cascading wedding bouquet was placed on the side, to showcase its beauty. Then the two stepped out to take some photos in the church. They looked around and found some beautiful spots to take photos at. The couple posed for some cute wedding photos outside the church. They held hands, hugged each other, and stole a few kisses from each other as they posed for their photos. Before leaving for the wedding reception, the two posed for some more quick photos. This time, our photographer did not have to help them with pose prompts, Mary and Royce simply stood next to each other and gave our photographer the brightest of smiles. And right when the couple’s gray car pulled up, Royce quickly pulled Mary close and planted a kiss on her cheek! After they got into the car, Mary and Royce told our photographer that they decided not to use wedding car signage, only because they did not like any of the designs. The couple talked about some of the signs that they had looked up online and found funny. When the couple reached the reception venue, they smiled at each other and looked at the beautiful venue, Inn at St. John's Plymouth. Before stepping out of the car, the couple paused for a moment and then looked at each other. Mary leaned in for a kiss, and Royce smiled first, then kissed his bride. He took her hand, and softly pulled her out of the car.
The reception venue, Inn at St. John's Plymouth, was perfect. Filled with large trees and beautiful interiors, the wedding reception decor was minimal and romantic. The venue’s Romanesque architecture paired with handcrafted woodwork and marble floors built on a romantic vibe. The halls had tall ceilings and large windows, which were covered with lovely sheer curtains. The hall’s original look was so stunning that the couple did not want to add more details to it. It was easy to see that Mary and Royce loved the interiors so much that they did not want to add much to their wedding reception. To improve their wedding look, they chose gold details, including gold chairs, and gold cutlery. The couple also decided to have small floral arrangements on the dinner tables, and a few of the tables on the corner had a larger floral arrangement with red and white flowers. The sweetheart table was decorated with similar colors as well. The escort cards were placed on a white table for the guests to find. As the guests were still arriving, the couple decided to take some photos outside, in the beautiful venue. Before the bridesmaids and the bride got a chance to take some photos, the groom and the bride posed for some photos. Taking advantage of the golden hour, the two loved exploring the vast gardens, the stone steps, and the beautiful stream that ran through the venue. Royce and Mary absolutely loved the surroundings and enjoyed posing for their photos. With the evening glow, Royce pulled Mary in for a close embrace. Then he pulled her close to plant a loving kiss on her cheek. After that, Mary asked the girls to gather around and pose for a photo. The bridesmaids and the maid of honor brought their bouquets as well for the photo.
As the reception venue was filled with guests, Mary and Royce decided to make their wedding reception entry. Filled with joy and loads of happiness, the two entered with broad smiles. The wedding guests clapped as the couple entered the hall. Their first dance was everything any couple dreams of, lovely, romantic, and heartwarming. Taking the floor to dance to the tunes of their favorite song, they danced. Mary and Royce couldn’t stop looking into each other’s eyes. As the couple’s feet swept across the room, lost in each other’s eyes, the guests looked on with pride and joy. And when the song ended, the couple separated to dance with their parents before opening the floor for the guests to enjoy their night. The couple took their space at the sweetheart table, softly smiling and looking at their closest friends and family enjoying their time at their wedding.
The couple enjoyed each other’s company as the room filled with life and joy. Before the dinner was served, the couple decided to have their cake-cutting ceremony. The cake was an elegant white and brown marble cake, which had two big flowers on top! The table was decorated minimally, with gold candle holders. The couple had their ceremony as every other wedding day activity, surrounded by the warmth of their loved ones. After they cut the first slice, the couple kissed, and then chuckled softly. As the guests dispersed, our photographer asked the two to pose their hands in a manner to show off their wedding rings. Their love for minimalistic wedding decor was visible in their choice of wedding bands as well. Both of them had picked out simple wedding bands for each other. As the couple walked back to their table, they looked around the room, softly smiling at the happiness they were surrounded with. They sat down and enjoyed the night. And that was our wedding photographer’s cue to leave. Waving goodbyes and congratulating the couple, our photographer stepped out of the beautiful venue, with a heart full of warm and fuzzy feelings. Our photographer had experienced many weddings in the past, but this one, Mary and Royce, left him with a smile as well. And we feel the same way as we flip through their pictures!
