The Cozy Wedding Of Leslie and Colter At The Luxurious Omni Houston Hotel
September, 16 2021
In times of uncertainty and despair, love keeps us alive and going. With the power to move mountains and pierce through glass ceilings, love has always managed to unite hearts and conquer everything in its way. The engagements and weddings during the Covid-19 pandemic testify to this more than anything else. With couples getting married in the driveways and online streaming meets to couples going on romantic day trips for celebrating engagements and hosting minimonies, we’ve seen a fair share of creativity and ingenuity brought together by artistic couples around the world who didn't let the pandemic put a damper on their “I do’s.” Creative couples have found some really safe and romantic ways to celebrate their union and declare their love for each other during 2020 and 2021.
Although wedding planning in 2021 seemed like a whole new story for some couples, we’ve seen people coming together to create safe havens for them to take steps for a brand-new journey. For instance, a drive-in movie-themed intimate wedding ceremony was hosted by a creative couple who had set up a big screen for all to see and live-streamed for remote guests. Another couple hosted a tailgate-style setup wedding reception as the newlyweds walked through the rows to greet their socially distanced wedding guests in a car parade setup. While some couples delivered world-class cuisines to their loved ones as they tied the knot over online streaming meet, there were other couples who got married on their balcony as their guests cheered from the driveway, and we saw how at the end of the day- love found its way.
And in the same way, this couple from Houston came into our lives on a bright spring morning of 2021 and stole our hearts forever. The moment Leslie and Colter entered our lives, there was something so effortlessly elegant about them that changed our documenting experience forever. From choosing their hometown Houston as their wedding location to creating a dreamily intimate wedding day that was loved by our Houston wedding photographers, every part still feels like a quintessential dream to this day. Right from the beginning, the duo had their heart set on hosting a wedding in Houston, and it was very easy to see why.
Being the fourth-largest city in the US, Houston is home to many photogenic spots and venues to celebrate love and get clicked. This city is the home of the world-famous Johnson Space Center, which is a must-see attraction as well as a unique spot for couple portraits. Another of Houston's greatest cultural attractions, The Museum District is a unique destination that is home to several other hotspots like the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Children's Museum of Houston, and the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, which can be amazing for your couple photography session in Houston.
With the 160 acres of green space running through the city, the Buffalo Bayou Park is another photogenic spot in Houston that is loved by professional photographers. For all the lovers of vintage chic details, getting your couple portraits clicked at the 19th Street in The Heights will never disappoint as it is filled with vintage clothing, retro décor, and old collectibles.
Amidst all of this, our gorgeous couple decided to get hitched at the Omni Houston Hotel in Houston on a beautiful morning of spring. With a capacity to host up to 300 people, this classic wedding venue in Houston is loved for its seamless access to all the nearby landmarks. Located in the heart of the Energy Corridor, a short distance from Houston’s City Centre, this exclusive ballroom wedding venue in Houston is a spectacular luxury event space that rests on lush greens and is surrounded by a picturesque two-acre lake. Surrounded by cascading waterfalls, exotic foliage, and tropical fish in a beautiful serene setting, this chic and luxurious wedding venue in Houston is loved by our wedding photographers and couples alike for its unmatched décor and aesthetics. Centrally located in prestigious Uptown, the Four Diamond Omni Houston Hotel also recently underwent a whopping $30 million renovation and has enchanted couples and their families since its inception.
The big wedding day of Colter and Leslie started bright and early on a radiant spring morning when the sun dawdled lazily on the chic wedding venue in Houston that the duo chose for their wedding. Our wedding photographers in Houston did a fantastic job of capturing the intricate details of this wedding in intimately detailed shots. The wedding dress was photographed by pinning it on the mezzanine of the first floor, from where it hung beautifully. The crisp white wedding dress was a long flowy ball gown with sparkling intricate embroidery work and off-shoulder details. The chic princess ball gown featuring pearl-studded embroidery details made Leslie look like a Disney princess straight out of a fairytale. When she came donning the beautiful wedding gown, we paused for a while, taking some time to appreciate the elegant bridal look that she planned for herself. The plunging sweetheart neckline was accentuated with a bare neck and neatly middle-parted hairdo that caressed her shoulders. The minimal bridal makeup was on point. Her long and flowy ball gown was also accompanied by a cathedral-length bridal veil that swept the grounds like a dream alongside the outfit. Her spring-inspired bridal bouquet was a bunch of white and light pink roses elegantly tied by white lace ribbon and with a lot of greens.
Our dashing groom Colter came wearing an electric blue two-piece double buttoned formal suit. The formal groom's outfit looked dapper as he paired it with a crisp white shirt and a light salmon pink tie that was carefully tucked in place with a gold tie pin. The rose boutonniere matched with the minimal wedding bouquets and the salmon pink pocket square completed the chic formal groom look. His tanned brown shoes and neatly combed hair complemented him even more. Both Colter and Leslie complimented each other’s wedding look, and we could see the picture-perfect wedding planning that went behind this entire classy wedding outfit. The two bridesmaids of Leslie looked so beautiful in their dreamy bridesmaids’ outfits that seamlessly complimented the overall look of this wedding. Both of them wore light salmon pink wrap dresses paired with minimal jewelry and rose wedding bouquets that matched with the primary bridal bouquet without stealing the attention away from it.
Don’t we all love some well-planned aesthetic wedding details? This memorable Houston wedding gave us another such detail that made us go “awwww”. We all love our furry friends. They are with us in our saddest moments as well as in our happiest days. Without leaving our side for a moment and without asking for anything in return, dogs are our little babies of the house that pull our heartstrings stronger than anyone else. For Leslie, the little pooch was her entire world. That is why she included the little dog in the wedding day photos by giving him the title of “Dog of Honor” and even made him wear a bib that says that. How adorable is that? We love it when couples include their dogs in wedding photos by grooming and dressing them up in cute outfits. The little one was not only awarded with the title of “Dog of Honor” but was also dressed up in a chic white bow alongside the cute attire.
Leslie’s elegant bridal portraits were accompanied by her little fur baby as she picked him up and posed with him for bridal photos that were overloaded with fun and cute poses. We love dogs at weddings just like we love ice cream on warm sunny days. There was also a fun welcome wedding signboard placed in front of the main door against the exposed red brick wall that said: ‘Welcome to our HOME- The Rodrigues’ which was also tied with a brown bow. The gorgeous bridal portrait session Houston took us on a tour of this chic wedding venue. From the bride getting captured against the dreamy white staircase in her elegant wedding dress to the ones she posed with her furry little one on her lap against the swoon-worthy neutral palette backdrops, our wedding photographers in Houston captured every detail in an amazing way.
Leslie also posed for some emotional family portraits with the to-be parents-in-law by her side, which looked equally beautiful. The groom portraits of Colter getting ready for this new phase of his life looked amazing too. They celebrated the wedding ceremony in tandem with their faith. Their spiritual faith was also clearly depicted in various detailed shots, including the wooden artifact placed in the altar that said “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” The stunning bride was walked to the altar by her dad and the emotional father-daughter portraits testified to the strong relationship that they shared. There was not a single dry eye as the couple began their wedding ceremony, which was officiated by the dad of the groom. Each and every wedding ceremony portrait brimmed with priceless emotions and in no time they were declared ‘husband and wife’! The atmosphere of this intimate wedding was elevated with a ring of coziness as their close friend and cousin sang beautifully with a guitar. Everyone came together to make this intimate wedding ceremony a huge success, and the memorable wedding photography session in Houston stood as living proof of this.
We would like to take a moment to appreciate the neutral palette backdrops of this exclusive Houston wedding venue as because of this thoughtful design element, each and every detail popped gloriously in wedding photos captured here. The intricately cozy and personalized wedding details also gave a unique charm to the wedding photos. For instance, the reception table décor was spruced with customized round leather table tags that said ‘Slikkers 4.2.2021’ which depicted the surname of the newlyweds and their wedding date. The chic white double-tiered wedding cake with elegant rose cake toppers seamlessly matched with the spring-themed wedding flowers that decked up the rest of the wedding details.
Right after the wedding ceremony, the newly married duo posed for some really precious couple portrait sessions in Houston. They posed in front of the shiny glass wall of the wedding event space that overlooked the surrounding greenery and forestry backdrops. From holding and embracing each other to stealing a kiss as newlyweds, our hearts were swooned by the warm and glowing chemistry of this stunning couple. The wedding party regrouped for some traditional family portrait sessions. From posing with their respective parents to posing with their best friends, the warm family moments were captured in a beautiful Houston wedding photography session. Colter and Leslie then went on to cut their chic wedding cake and made everyone taste bites of this delicacy.
The evening set in, and it was time for some candid evening celebrations! As their beloved wedding guests mellowed down and regrouped for the evening reception celebration, Leslie and Colter spent some quiet moments while being surrounded by the people that mattered the most to them. Every big and little detail of this wedding day revolved around cozy and comfortable settings that warmed up everyone’s hearts. It also portrayed the infectious positive energy that this Houston couple brought to the table. This duo was genuinely loved by their dear ones and each photo of this wedding day in Houston stood as a testament to that. The warm amber of glowing comfort was passed on to all of us on this wedding day, and we’ll take it back with us as our fondest memory. The love and affection that Colter and Leslie had for each other have touched everyone around them, including us. With a wish that they continue to share their story with equal love and care, we would like to wish them good luck.
