The Dazzling Boston Engagement Session Of Daylin And Andre
October, 6 2022
One of the best ways to enjoy life, in our opinion, is to revisit the best spots in the city you live and love dearly. And if you want to turn it into a memory, one that makes you smile and reminds you of the best moments of your life, it will have to be an engagement photo shoot remembering, enjoying, and celebrating not only your love for each other but also the love for the city you call home. And we found the same emotions, the love and the desire to create something exceptionally timeless when we met Daylin and Andre in Boston on December fourth, 2021. Their bright smiles, the pleasant Boston weather, and the ideas for an engagement photo shoot the two had brought together warmed our hearts and put a smile on our faces. The day was perfect, a mild sun smiled upon the city, with a slight chill in the breeze. And to make it better, our Boston engagement photographer found the couple smiling and dressed up for the occasion.
Boston, to us, has always been a city of great beauty. To us, Boston sounds and feels like magic. Handsome, cultured, and full of historic beauty, the city’s allure is unmistakable and unmatched. Boston is the perfect getaway to New England and the East coast, the place where the first pilgrims set up their shop, and is a place of music, arts, literature, and learning. Before the capital of Massachusetts became an economic powerhouse, the city was a hub of varied things, which led to it growing into a city of learning, a place for cultures to blossom, and much more. In recent times, Boston is known for its vibrant beauty, the electric vibes of the Red Sox games, atmospheric winter, beautiful fall, and energetic summer make it the city perfect for any season! Peppered with many waterfront locations overlooking nature and the beautiful city skyline, historic architecture, an eclectic theater district, and detailed museums, Boston is an inviting city to art lovers, foodies, and anyone who wants to experience a city in all its glory. With so many picture-perfect areas in the city, Daylin and Andre chose two spots for their engagement photo session.
The couple shared with our engagement photographer that they had put a lot of thought into choosing their engagement photo shoot venues. Daylin told our photographer that they made a decision based on the places they had spent the best moments together. So, the chosen spots for the day were the dazzling Castle Island and the picturesque Jamaica Pond. We loved both of the locations because it reveals a side of Boston that most of us do not get to see often. Castle Island in Boston is much more than a scenic place to take photos, explore and enjoy a beautiful day. Castle Island is an old fort, and also has been nicknamed “Fort Independence.” Spanning over 22 acres of parkland, it is home to many good sights, beautiful spots for photos, and has an amazing vibe to it. Although the name says “island,” Castle Island is actually connected to the mainland. What we particularly loved about the location was the pretty shoreline, and when we saw Daylin and Andre dip their toes into the water and smile like children, we understood why they had picked this place out as the first location for their engagement photo shoot. The second location was the beautiful Jamaica Pond, another impressive photo shoot spot in Boston. The second location was beautiful in its own right, and by the time the lovely couple and our photographer reached the pond, the sun was starting to dip down, which gave them the opportunity to capture the beauty of the lake, the tangerine sky overlooking the city and these two lovebirds.
Daylin and Andre were excited to get to the first location. Our photographer and the two made it there when the sun was still out. The fuzzy winter chill in the air, and the ambiance of winter sets in, made everything prettier. For their engagement photo session, the couple dressed up in matching colors! Daylin told our photographer before the engagement photo session started, that she had planned two outfits for the day. The first outfit for the engagement photo session was deep blue. We loved their choices of outfits for a number of reasons. However, the fact that their photo poses with a grayscale background makes their photos even more stunning. Perhaps, that’s a sublime way of embodying the phrase, “brighter than the sun.” For the photo session, Daylin put on a beautiful blue dress. The short-sleeved dress had beautiful details that sparkled as the sun shone above us. She completed her engagement photo session outfit with a pair of peep-toes, blue, of course, and minimal earrings. For the day, her make-up was perfect! Choosing a minimal make-up routine, she looked radiant. Andre chose a blue suit, the shade a tad lighter than his fiancé’s. He chose a blue two-piece suit, and black dress shoes for the outfit and finished his look with a patterned, white and blue tie.
From the moment our engagement photographer started taking photos of the couple, they could see how the couple easily switched from one pose to another. Smiling, and excited, the couple had a blast taking photos in different poses at Castle Island. The grayscale background of Castle Island worked in Daylin and Andre’s favor. As the day started, the two smiled into the camera and hugged each other. We loved how effortless the poses look, and how comfortable the couple feels in front of the camera! Softly head bumping Daylin, Andre smiled, looking deeply into her eyes before the two turned to the camera. As Daylin was telling our photographer about how Andre would casually head bump her and just stare into her eyes, Andre simply planted a soft kiss on her head, making Daylin smile brighter. Daylin and Andre showed our photographer some of their favorite spots in the area. Strolling and pointing at different things, Andre told our engagement photographer that they were in the middle of their wedding planning, and were thinking of tying the knot in Boston. However, they were not sure what kind of wedding venue they would like. Daylin piped in saying, something like Castle Island would be perfect. The couple agreed that they loved the waters, and above all, they loved watching the horizon together. They found a small cliff, it overlooked the city shoreline on the other side. Our photographer took a photo of the two in front of the shoreline. Before our photographer could take an engagement portrait of the two, Daylin looked up to say something, and Andre leaned in, with a smile on his face, to listen to his fiancé closely. Our photographer decided to take a candid engagement photo of the two. Then, Daylin and Andre posed once more. But this time, Daylin looked into the camera, still holding Andre’s hand, who decided to simply stare at the love of his life with a soft smile on his lips. When our photographer took the photo, and Daylin asked to see how their engagement photo pose had turned out to be, she let out a small chuckle.
After strolling around for a bit, the couple decided to walk to the part of Castle Island that made them the most excited. They walked down to the rocky shore. Castle Island’s shoreline is peppered with big rocks, oblong shaped mostly, that are lying right around the shoreline. Andre shared with our photographer that he loved coming down to this spot because climbing the rocks made me feel he was a little boy once more. And we feel that’s an amazing feeling to have. Daylin chimed in and told us that the rocky area was where the two of them could be children again, together. Our engagement photographer enjoyed watching the two climb the rocks. Andre climbed first, then he stretched out his hand to support Daylin, and help her get up. Our photographer took a few steps back, to add some distance between the couple and themselves to capture the moment better. Surrounded by the rocks, big ones, the couple stood close to each other, in an embrace, smiling and looking deeply into each other’s eyes. With a quiet breeze in the air, Daylin’s loose hairstyle loosened a little, and a few strands flew out. Andre, softly tucked it behind her ear, without taking his eyes off her. Our photographer took the photo and looked at it in awe, knowing it was worthy of becoming a good choice for their save-the-date cards for their wedding invites. To take one last photo on the rocks, Daylin softly put her head on Andre’s chest, smiling they posed for another photo.
The two climbed down, their laughs and giggles filling the atmosphere. They found another rocky structure and decided to use an engagement prop they’d brought along. Andre loved singing and playing the guitar whenever he could. So he had brought it along to add it to their engagement photos. He started strumming a soft melody, and Daylin couldn’t help but slowly bob her head to it. Our photographer took photos of the two with the guitar. As they were talking, Andre and Daylin decided to keep their musical vibes alive for a few more photos, so they started dancing in a small clearing. For the last photo here, Daylin and Andre had brought along two of their favorite verses from the Bible. They posed with the prop, a small frame with a black background, that said “love is patient.” And we absolutely agree with that.
After that, the couple decided to make their way to Jamaica Pond, for the last few photos. The two were excited because both of them knew that the wonderful waterfront area will make them look just perfect! They also confessed to our photographer that they had decided to leave it for the evening because they knew that at dusk, the pond would give the opportunity to have romantic photos! And right they were. For the second location, Daylin put on a beautiful green dress, with a leg slit. Looking beautiful, she brushed her hair and fixed her make-up. Andre stood next to her, looking at her, with an expression that can only be described by the word “serene.” For the second location, Andre switched up his outfit by taking his jacket and tie off. Becoming a part of the stunning background, the couple looked radiant! Our photographer helped the couple try out some cute photo poses, which made the two looks even more stunning. They found a spot next to the pond and posed for the camera. Then, Andre pulled out his photo prop, the guitar, and strummed it slightly. Daylin smiled, forgetting to look at the camera. Then, the second photo prop that the couple had brought, was a white frame with another Bible verse. The two posed with the engagement props, looking perfectly in sync with each other. And as the day started to slowly turn into night. The couple decided to walk to the shoreline of the pond and took some impressively romantic photos! Andre took the opportunity to surprise the love of his life and picked her up. Our photographer took the perfect engagement photo, candid might we add, with the sky slowly turning orange, and the pond looking as though it were made of glass. Putting her down, he smiled, and Daylin was exhilarated. The two dipped their feet in the water, and posed at the shoreline, with broad and bright smiles. As the sky turned into a deep orange, the two asked if they could get some silhouette photos for their engagement photo session. Our photographer excitedly told them yes, and took some dazzling silhouette photos to close the day. With the sun slowly going down the horizon, the couple posed next to a tree and a lamp. The city on the other side was slowly coming to life, as these two lovebirds were ending a day full of love, joy, and laughter. These two lovebirds were ending the day with hopes that all of their evenings from this point onwards would be the same, filled with the excitement of spending another day with their soulmate.
