The Elegant Wedding Of Kelly And Adam At Rio Plaza, Austin
September, 7 2022
When Adam asked Kelly to marry him, Kelly's world stopped and she screamed the biggest "yes" ever. The rest is history, and we were lucky enough to be there to record it.
Even though weddings are not everyone's cup of tea, no one can deny how beautiful it is for two people to celebrate their love and look forward to a future full of hope, comfort, and love. A wedding has a contagious energy that can't be denied, especially for a woman who has been dreaming about her big day since she was a little girl playing dress-up in her mother's high heels and long satin nightgowns. People have different ideas about what a wedding means to them. We love everything about the celebrations for the big day. Everything about a wedding, from the beautiful wedding dresses and creative wedding ideas to the nerve-wracking excitement in the air and the beautiful, hopeful faces of the soon-to-be-married couple, pulls at our heartstrings a little more each time.
Weddings are about two people who are still getting to know each other and have high hopes for their future. From the moment a bride walks down the aisle to meet her love waiting at the altar, giving us some of the most amazing must-have wedding photos, to the silent and goofy candid moments between the groomsmen as they prepare the groom for the biggest day of his life, giving us some of the most amazing groomsmen portraits, there is no way to describe the emotions running high during wedding celebrations in simple words. On your wedding day, you can also catch up with friends and family you haven't seen in a while outside of social media. There is a lot to catch up on, from Aunt Sally opening a new cloud kitchen to Cousin Harry going to business school next summer. A wedding is the best time to do it!
What could be better than a couple planning their wedding in one of the most beautiful parts of Texas, with bright and colorful backgrounds that make magic for their wedding photos? This is where we met Kelly and Adam, two beautiful people from Austin, Texas. We were blown away by this wedding day, which took place in San Antonio at a quaint little vintage church wedding ceremony venue followed by a reception at Rio Plaza, an all-inclusive destination wedding venue on the San Antonio River Walk. This wedding day was more than just another photogenic wedding because it had gorgeous wedding details spread over a wide range of delicately placed details. It also had modern and chic city wedding elements, fall wedding details, waterfront wedding inspirations, and the colors of the season. As Kelly and Adam told us, it was Kelly's brilliant idea to get married in Austin because she has always loved the city's rich beauty, from its waterfront properties and large golf course wedding venues to its horse farms and ranches with longhorns serving as wedding spaces with immersive backdrops.

Our Austin wedding photographers love this historic place in Texas that dates back to 1839. The University of Texas is another popular tourist destination in Austin. It has one of the most artistically designed campuses in the US and has a permanent collection of more than 17,000 pieces of American, Latin American, and European art. Adam and Kelly had their hearts set on a top wedding venue in Austin that looked like a scene from a Texan dream. Rio Plaza is a private event space on the River Walk in San Antonio. The classic wedding venue in Austin suburbs, Rio Plaza is right in the middle of downtown San Antonio, on top of the Riverwalk. It has seven different wedding event spaces where couples can get married. This city venue in the style of Spain has walls in earth tones and plenty of natural light for a couple's big day. One can easily see why it's a favorite place in Texas. Even though the rooms are separate and have their own elevators, guests will find it easy to get to the Riverwalk and see what it has to offer. With a professional staff to help you on the day of your wedding and a wide range of rentals to choose from, your wedding at the Rio Plaza is sure to be a dream come true. You can hold your special event in the Calle Vista room, which has Spanish touches, wood-beamed ceilings, and walls painted in earth tones. You can also use the Floor Las Leyendas and balcony, which are on the roof and have beautiful views. The room also has windows that go from floor to ceiling, a large dark oak bar, and a private Riverwalk patio. The Rio Plaza is the best place in Texas to get married because it has many options for your big day. The Grande Vista is our favorite because of its domed ceiling, two-tiered wrought-iron chandelier, and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the Riverwalk.

They have several reception rooms that can be used for different types and sizes of events. They can also plan engagement parties, showers, rehearsal dinners, brunches the day after the wedding, and even "Last Fling Before the Ring" parties. Since you are in the middle of downtown, you are close to many top San Antonio hotels and tourist spots. Adam and Kelly chose Grande Vista for the reception. With panoramic views of the San Antonio River Walk and a unique domed ceiling, Grande Vista took our breath away!
Before the wedding reception, they married in a quaint little church in San Antonio known as the Little Church of La Villita. Amidst the downtown shops of La Villita, near the Arneson Theater and the River Walk, there is a beautiful old chapel with pews for people to sit on. The Little Church of La Villita wedding ceremony venue is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds. It has air conditioning and enough seats for up to 100 people. In the 1700s, La Villita was one of the first places to live in San Antonio. It was built on the south bank of the San Antonio River. In the 1930s, it was lovingly restored, and now it's in the middle of downtown, just a block from the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and the Hemisfair District. The event spaces at the La Villita wedding venue have a distinctly historic feel.
Kelly and Adam's wedding day started bright and early when our Austin wedding photographers started taking close-up shots of the big and small details. The photo album from this Austin wedding will always be a reminder of how beautiful this wedding was in the Austin suburbs. Let's take a look at this beautiful couple's big day and find out what makes it so beautiful. In the wedding portraits, every detail looked mesmerizing, from the bridesmaids' group photography featuring black comfortable PJ sets to the close-up bridal portrait shots of Kelly in her bridal whites. The bride getting ready portraits were taken as Kelly got ready for her big day party while surrounded by her best friends, and we were glad to be a part of this photography journey. The bridesmaids got ready for the wedding in black bridesmaid pajama sets, while Kelly wore a white counterpart to honor the bridal white dress code.
When we saw Kelly getting ready for her wedding, we were blown away by how beautiful she was. The show-stopping wedding look of Kelly featured a crisp white wedding dress with thin straps, a plunging sweetheart neckline, and a long train. This wedding dress was on-trend because it had a long train and a low back. It also had beautiful beadwork and lace details. Our beautiful bride Kelly wore her hair loosely tied in the back with wisps caressing her gentle face on both sides. Her long, flowing black hair framed her beautiful face, which had very little makeup on it. The no-bridal jewelry look gave us a minimalist bride goal! Her wedding bouquet was an all-white bridal bouquet featuring white roses with long stems.
Adam, our handsome groom, dressed like a true Texan power player by putting on his best groom outfit. He wore a two-piece black suit with a white satin tie and shiny black shoes to look like he was ready for a black-tie event. The groom's stylish formal outfit included a crisp white shirt, a matching white boutonniere, and a matching white pocket square. The bridesmaids wore teal color maxi dresses that made them picture-perfect. The teal bridesmaid dresses matched like a dream with the groomsmen who wore all-black groomsmen outfits that went with the theme and matched amazingly just like the groom. This made the portraits of the groomsmen and bridesmaids at this wedding stand out, especially since the groomsmen and bridesmaids were joined by the groom's adorable family.
On Kelly and Adam's wedding day, the sun shone through the arched windows of the beautiful old church where they got married. We knew this wedding would be unique as soon as we met the couple who shared their wedding visions with us. Both the wedding ceremony and reception venues turned out to be the perfect places to take their first pictures as a married couple. All this happened during the small ceremony in the church, where candles were lit, vows were said, the Mr. and Mrs. were announced and the wedding party moved to the reception venue.
The mood for the whole day was like something out of a magazine. Kelly and Adam have great style! They thought about everything and stayed true to their style the whole day. Our Austin couple photographers loved taking pictures of this new couple as they walked around San Antonio. Our photographers were also able to take pictures with their friends and family, who were clearly very proud of them and happy to be a part of their journey. We think this wedding will say all it needs to say. If you look at Adam and Kelly's wedding photos, you might fall in love with their style as much as they did with each other. Well, who are we kidding? We don't think anything can compare to that.
