Tips for Handling Rain On Your Wedding Day
April, 6 2017
Of all the things that can be controlled on your wedding day, the weather is unfortunately not one of them. But we have good news: Rain is a great excuse to include some fun elements in your photos! Today, we have some helpful tips on how you can be prepared for rain on your wedding or engagement portrait day!
Work umbrellas to your advantage! A thoughtfully chosen umbrella will add a darling pop of color and personality to your wedding or engagement photos. Pick out a stylish umbrella that matches your wedding colors or your engagement photography attire. Transparent umbrellas create a whimsical look and allow for a clear (no pun intended!) shot of you and your hunny surrounded by rain drops. Your Lily & Lime wedding photographer will have some great umbrella posing ideas!
If it does turn out to be a rainy day but you still want to move forward with your outdoor ceremony or reception, offer umbrellas to your guests to keep them dry and comfortable. We recommend speaking with your venue ahead of time to make sure there is a backup plan in case the weather turns out to be too severe. Keep in mind that indoor photos can be equally as beautiful as outdoor photos!
Should Mother Nature decide to attend your wedding, make the best of it and get creative. Rain can add an incredible element of romance to your photos! And remember... it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day!
