Walking in a Winter Wedding Wonderland!
December, 29 2016
When making your plans for walking down the aisle, don’t rule out the possibility of walking in a winter wonderland.
Winter weddings are often easier on the pocketbook and bring welcomed warmth and cheer to shorter, darker days.
Looking for a little winter inspiration? Look for further than these celebrations, captured by the wedding photographers here at Lily and Lime!
Something old. Something new. Something borrowed. Something blue. In this case somethings … vintage car, shoes and baby blue overcoat with fur collar. We love the retro style of this wedding, complete with the old school “Just Married” sign in the car.
We adore these crepe paper florals. Not only are they season-less … they also make lovely keepsakes. (If you're feeling crafty, Martha Stewart's blog offers a helpful step-by-step guide for DIY crepe paper flowers.)
The bride’s off-white wrap is a gorgeous and practical solution for keeping warm, while the bridesmaids get to work their black magic in mismatched lace dresses which would be too heavy for warmer months.
Pinecones and berries are another way to work with winter florals. The pop of red amidst an all-white bouquet is stunning, as is the bride’s royal blue wrap. (Hint hint! Rustic Wedding Chic has some great suggestions for those of you wanting to incorporate pinecones in your decor.)
Some venues keep holiday lights up long past New Years. The twinkling effect can be stunning in both fore and backgrounds.
Speaking of lights, we love the dramatic effect captured here! Not to mention the elegant charcoal dresses.
The mismatched metallics on bridesmaids are fun and functional, while long sleeves on the entire wedding party make outdoor photos a snap (and outerwear obsolete).
Rich winter colors like berry, grey and blue give a definite nod to the season. We love this fearless couple, standing tall in the snow!
Nothing says winter like fur. (Or faux fur.) The wrap, bling-y jewelry and flowing down-do are the ultimate in winter glamour.
Of course, a gorgeous winter wedding can only be followed by one thing -- a warm, sunny, honeymoon getaway!
